Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about LoggVault. Can't find your answer? Send us feedback.
General
LoggVault is your personal gaming journal. It lets you log every game you play, rate them, write reviews, organize collections called Vaults, and share your gaming journey with friends. Think of it as a diary for your entire gaming life.
Yes, LoggVault is completely free to use. All core features — logging games, writing reviews, creating Vaults, following friends — are available at no cost.
LoggVault uses the IGDB database, which covers virtually every gaming platform: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, mobile, retro consoles, and more. If a game exists in IGDB, you can log it here.
Account & Profile
LoggVault supports three ways to sign in: Email & Password (traditional registration), Google (one tap on web and mobile), and Apple (available on web and iOS/Android).
Yes. Request a password reset using the same email registered with Google/Apple. After creating a password, you can log in with either method.
Go to your profile page and click the edit button. You can set a display name, write a bio, upload an avatar, and link your gaming accounts (Steam, PSN, Xbox, Discord).
Your username is set during registration. If you need to change it, reach out through the Feedback page and we will assist you.
On your profile page, click your avatar area. You can upload an image and crop it to fit. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and WebP.
LoggVault has a social follow system. When you follow someone, their activity appears in your personal feed. Your follower count shows how many people follow you back.
Your LoggVault account is tied to your provider's unique ID, not your email address. Changing your email on Google or Apple will not affect your LoggVault account.
On your profile, open Edit profile, go to the Danger zone and click Delete my account. You will need to type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, library, reviews, comments, likes, followers/following, lists, activities, and notifications.
Games & Library
Click the "+ Add Game" button in the sidebar, or use the search bar. Search for the game, select it, and it will be added to your library. You can immediately rate it or set a status.
Playing: currently playing. Backlog: plan to play. Completed: finished the main story. Liked: especially enjoyed. Mastered: fully completed (100%, platinum). Wishlist: want to play. Dropped: stopped playing.
You can rate any game on a numeric scale. Your rating is personal and visible on your profile and in your reviews. The community average rating is displayed on each game's detail page.
All game metadata (titles, covers, release dates, genres, platforms, developers) comes from IGDB (Internet Game Database), maintained by Twitch/Amazon. We sync regularly to keep information up to date.
Try the full official title or alternative names. Check IGDB directly at igdb.com — if the game doesn't exist there, you can submit it. Once approved on IGDB, it will appear on LoggVault after the next sync.
LoggVault syncs with IGDB regularly. Newly released games and updates are picked up during these syncs. There may be a short delay between a game appearing on IGDB and being searchable here.
Major expansions (like Blood and Wine, Phantom Liberty) can be logged as separate entries. Smaller DLC packs and cosmetic bundles are recommended to be logged under the base game to keep your library clean.
Reviews
Yes. You don't need to complete a game to review it. If you've played enough to form an opinion, your perspective is valid and welcome. Many users find "in-progress" or "dropped" reviews especially helpful.
Yes, but please use the spoiler tag. When you mark a review as containing spoilers, its content is hidden behind a warning. Other users must actively choose to reveal the text.
Yes. Go to the game's detail page or your reviews list, find your review, and click edit. Your updated review will replace the original.
Any logged-in user can like your review and leave comments. You receive a notification when someone interacts with your review. You can delete comments on your own reviews.
Vaults
A Vault is a custom collection of games. You can use Vaults to organize games by theme, genre, ranking, or any criteria. Examples: "Best RPGs of All Time", "Games to Play in 2025", "Couch Co-op Picks".
Standard: a simple collection with no particular order. Ranked: an ordered list where position matters (great for Top 10 lists). Checklist: a to-do style list where you check off games as you play them.
Each Vault can contain up to 100 games.
Yes. When creating or editing a Vault, you can toggle its visibility between Public and Private. Private Vaults are only visible to you.
On any Vault's detail page you have three options: Copy Link (copies the URL), Share to Feed (posts it as an activity for followers), and Generate Image (creates a shareable image for social media).
Import & Export
Yes. You can export your entire collection as a CSV file at any time, with no limits on frequency. This includes your games, ratings, statuses, playtime, platform metadata, and review fields (review_content, review_spoiler, review_created_at).
Yes. LoggVault supports bulk importing games via CSV. In addition to game data, you can also import review_content, review_spoiler, and review_created_at to create reviews in the same process. Review imports made via upload do not generate activity feed entries.
Yes: up to 5 imports per month, 500 games per import, and a 2 MB max file size. The monthly quota resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
Games are matched by slug. If a slug is not found in the catalog, that row fails. Duplicate game_slug values within the same CSV also fail. Games that already exist in your library are counted as skipped.
Steam Integration
No. The Steam profile link on your profile is just a social link for visitors. Steam Sync is a separate feature that imports your game library. You can use one without the other.
You provide your Steam ID 64 in the integrations section. LoggVault connects to the Steam API, reads your public game library, matches games against IGDB, and adds them to your library with playtime data. After the initial sync, it auto-syncs once per day.
Steam Sync imports which games you own, total playtime per game, and recent playtime updates. It does not import achievements, screenshots, or wishlisted games.
No. Steam Sync only adds games you don't already have and updates playtime. Your personal data — ratings, reviews, statuses, Vault assignments — is never overwritten.
Yes. Remove your Steam ID from the integrations page. Previously synced games remain in your library, but no future syncs will occur.
Social & Feed
Mobile & Multi-Device
LogId, LoggVault's companion mobile app for iOS and Android, is coming soon. It will share the same account and data as the web version. In the meantime, the website is fully responsive on mobile browsers.
Yes. You can be logged in on the web and the mobile app simultaneously. All changes sync in real time. Logging out on one device only ends the session on that device.
Account Security
Check your spam/junk folder first. Password reset emails are the only emails LoggVault sends. If you still don't see it, make sure you're using the exact email address associated with your account.
Currently, email changes are not self-service. Reach out through the Feedback page and we'll help you update it.
